Meet Your Lead Piercer at Wicked Heart

Hey there! I’m Steph, the lead piercer at Wicked Heart. Whether you’re a piercing first-timer or a seasoned metalhead, I’ve got you. From picking the perfect placement to choosing jewelry and walking you through healing, I’ll guide you every step of the way.

We take cleanliness very seriously. Every tool and piece of jewelry is individually pre-sanitized.

Your piercing fee includes your starter jewelry. (unless you fall in love with an upgrade, and you probably will 💎)

Things to know:

  • We pierce kids earlobes starting at age 5 and up (with placement restrictions). Your child needs to be able to tell me that they do want the piercing and sit still. I am not in the business of forcing anyone to get a piercing and I will not help you hold your child down against their will. Most kids handle ear piercings very well though, and I do my best to make them feel at ease through the whole process! We love our little clients here.
  • No Snake Eyes, Frog Eyes, Scoop or Cheek piercings.
  • No genital piercings.
  • We offer a ton of piercings:
Lobe, Tragus, Helix, Industrial, Conch, Orbital, Forward Helix, Medusa, Smiley, Ashley, Snake Bites, Lip, Nostril, Bridge, Septum, Navel, Nipples, Tongue, and Dermals, plus lots more..
Got something else in mind? Send me a message! I love a challenge.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering… yes, Steph is an elite-status agent of the FBI (Federal Boba of Investigation 🧋).

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 to 12: Earlobes only
  • 13 to 15: Basic ear cartilage, nostril and septum
  • 16 to 17: Navel, eyebrow, lip and advanced cartilage
  • 18+: Nipple, surface anchors/dermals, tongue, and anything else offered above

A photo ID is required for all clients over 18 years of age. A birth certificate, valid drivers permit or valid passport is required for minors under 18. Your parent must be present to sign off on your consent form and they must stay present the entire time you are here.

PIERCING AFTERCARE:

We recommend only sterile saline solution to heal a fresh piercing!

Avoid alcohol, bactine, soaps, hydrogen peroxide or vaseline as these can do more harm than good on an open piercing wound.

With CLEAN hands, spray sterile saline spray on the front and back of the piercing. Use a cotton swab or paper cloth to dry the area post spray and wipe away any crusty residue. You do not need to rotate the jewelry. Repeat this twice daily, and remember that over cleaning a piercing can be just as bad as not cleaning it at all.

Do not touch your piercing with dirty hands. It’s easier to infect your new piercing than most people might think, so it is super important to avoid contact with bacteria. Avoid submerging the piercing in pools, lakes or oceans for the first two months of healing.

Your new piercing hates moisture! This is usually the culprit of most issues like bumps and prolonged healing. Make sure that your piercing is dry after cleaning it or showering, and don’t sleep with wet hair.

Sleeping on a fresh piercing can also cause many issues, like pain, irritation bumps and migration. A straight piercing can easily heal into a crooked one if constant pressure is present. (Piercing pillows are a great way to avoid this!)

For oral piercings like tongues or labrets that go inside the lips, you need to clean the outside AND the inside. Follow the directions above to clean the outside of the piercing and use alcohol free mouthwash to clean the inside. Swish it around like you would with regular mouthwash every time you clean your piercing.

Normal healing issues: Initial swelling of the piercing channel, small amounts of clear or light yellow puss, tenderness, minor redness (especially if you snagged it!), temporary bruising.

NOT Normal healing issues: Swelling outside of your starter jewelry (come in ASAP for a swell bar if this happens!), embedding of your jewelry, redness paired with heat around the piercing channel, green or dark yellow puss that has a smell to it, feeling sick or unwell in addition to any of these other symptoms listed. Consult with a doctor right away to get professional medical help! You are welcome to call us if you are unsure about whether or not you have an infection, but we are not able to diagnose or treat you like your doctor can. We always err on the side of caution and want to make sure you are safe and healthy.

Refer to your aftercare sheet that was given to you at your appointment for healing and downsize time estimates.
