Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I choose Wicked Heart over another studio?
Simply put, we are high quality artists who take our craft seriously. We listen to your ideas and create pieces that you will love to wear forever. We follow the highest standards of safety and cleanliness as well as offer an inviting shop atmosphere that is open to all.
If you are looking for generic designs, you can definitely find them just about anywhere. However, if you’re looking for personalized artistry and outstanding craftsmanship, you’ve come to the right place.
What is the minimum amount for tattoos?
Our shop minimum is $100 – no matter the size or design.
What should I wear for my session?
Comfort trumps fashion when it comes to tattoo sessions. We recommend looser fitting clothes, and keep in mind that you should wear something that makes it easy for your artist to work with the area of skin you are getting tattooed.
Can I bring my headphones with me?
Hell yeah, you can! We have clients sit and hang with us for their whole session and we have others that would rather drown out the needles with some headphones and music. We don’t mind either way so long as you’re comfortable and sit still for us while we work.
Is my tattoo going to hurt?
Yep. It’s a needle repeatedly stabbing your skin — of course it’s gonna hurt a little. But hey, if you can survive your ex, your boss, or stepping on a LEGO, you’ve got this. Pain levels vary depending on the placement, your pain tolerance, and whether or not you ate breakfast like we told you to. But don’t worry — we’ll talk you through it, distract you with good vibes, and make sure you leave with a badass piece of art (and maybe a funny story about how you almost cried during the outline).
Thinking about using numbing cream? That’s totally your call — use it at your own discretion. Just know that many numbing products are known to cause healing issues, irritation, or allergic reactions, and we won’t take responsibility if your skin freaks out. If you decide to use it, follow the product instructions and test it on your skin beforehand.
How long does it take for a tattoo/piercing to heal?
The majority of your new tattoos healing process will be done within the first two weeks. However, the skin is still working to heal and rejuvenate and you need to plan on a 4-6 weeks for your skin to be back to its previous state.
Piercings carry a wider variety of healing times depending on the kind you get. Make sure to ask your piercer about your desired piercing for more information.
Do you require deposits?
Yep — no-shows are the ultimate buzzkill. We put in serious time sketching, designing, and prepping your piece before you ever hit the chair. Deposits lock in your appointment and show us you’re just as committed as we are.
Deposits are non-refundable and will be forfeited if you cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment. Each artist may have their own policies or flexibility, so if you’re unsure — ask ahead of time. But in general: show up, be stoked, get tattooed.
What happens if I’m late to my appointment?
Don’t be. Seriously. Running late to your appointment throws off our schedule for the rest of the day, you may also lose your deposit and not be tattooed that day. Communicate with your artist if you’re running a bit late. We will do our best to figure it out with you!
What happens if I don’t show up to my scheduled appointment?
If you are a no-show to your session, you forfeit your deposit. That means your tattoo, if you do get it, will cost you 150% more than what it should have cost.
